Online Piano Lessons

Picture
San Jose Piano Lessons values musicianship in all people, not just those who have time to schedule lessons or those who live in the Bay Area. This is why we offer online piano courses. Our online tutorials let you learn some of the basics for free, with the option to take live virtual lessons.

For live instruction, our teachers have piano lessons over Skype, FaceTime, or any other video chatting software that we can use with students to connect at a distance. Because these lessons are live, our teachers are able to tutor students in every area they need help.

We also offer pre-made videos, with simple, free lessons for scales and popular pieces like "Fur Elise," and more advanced pieces and topics being recorded in more depth or at a student's request.

Same Teachers, Same Lessons

Whether you're taking lessons in person or live through video chat, our teachers' core teaching values remain consistent.

We maintain online and in-person that everyone needs to learn their way and we will work just as hard on our video chats to ensure our students receive the best quality piano lessons that they can.

Whether you're a beginner student learning scales and basic pieces, or an advanced player learning a Beethoven sonata, our video lessons are a great way to learn piano in the comfort of your own home.

I called San Jose Piano Lessons looking to become better at sight reading and music theory, having been a self-taught classical pianist for years prior. I was stunned at the genuine interest Niko had for making me a better reader and theorist, as opposed to the other teacher I had for a few months before who just wanted to hear me play my songs and only taught me how to improve my expression. Even though I will gladly play the songs I've taught myself for the whole lesson, Niko pushed me to identify sounds of chords and identify notation, as well as music theory. Niko also took the time to research sheet music I needed and email it to me to practice. The amount of professionalism you have matches the amount I've improved - a lot! As an advanced player, I highly appreciate Niko's ability to work with not just younger people and beginners.

Why Take Online Music Lessons?

Most people who are taking online piano lessons are people who don't have time to schedule a piano lesson each week simply because they're too busy. Some students have moved and realize that we may still be the best teachers for them, as developing a relationship between student and teacher is an important goal at San Jose Piano Lessons.

It doesn't really matter why you want to take online lessons, though - all that matters is that whether classical, jazz, or contemporary piano is your style, you can always benefit from our online lessons. Online lessons can be used to teach music theory as well, and videos can be commissioned on any other term, piece, or topic for our expert-musician teachers to create for you!

Video Classes for Piano

San Jose Piano Lessons prides ourselves with one of the most in-depth virtual piano classes around. Without even meeting a student, we can elevate them to any level of virtuosity, as long as the student is also willing to get to that level. Our instruction is tailor-made for each student, and we believe with our special approach to learning piano, all students are capable of finding their inner musician and living a life of musical proliferation.

We've helped classical musicians transform into jazz musicians, we've helped people learn their fiance's favorite piece for their wedding, and we've helped total beginners become expert piano players. We haven't just had these results in person, though. We have been able to see massive success and development with our online students, as well.

While online students typically don't attend our own recitals, it is still an option for people who want to perform, or want to learn how to get over performance anxiety for general, everyday audiences.

Mr. Malek helped my son tremendously, both in music and in life.  On top of making my son a great pianist, I've also noticed my son doing better in school, staying more focused on work at home, and being more comfortable in social situations and performance, where he used to have issues.

Online Piano Class Resources

This is site was partially inspired by our desire to give piano students more control over their own development. That’s why we also deliver content such as free lesson materials, song tutorials, and even an upcoming complete online music course, titled "The Practical Guide to Piano."

Many of the lesson materials are used directly by our teachers, so they have the added benefit of preparing you for classes before you sign up, and can be visited and revisited whenever you want to brush up on theory. If you’re interested in pre-ordering “The Practical Guide to Piano”, please click here and let us know your email and that you'd like to preorder. This video/workbook was a culmination of seven years of teaching experience with beginning students as young as three and as old as seventy-two. It is currently being edited, and will be available in Summer of 2020.

No matter what style of music you’re interested in learning, we believe that developing the language with which we can talk about and communicate about music is not only important to developing musical skill, but essential. Whether you’re interested in learning to play jazz, pop, or classical, you will develop a grasp of the language of music that will let you see the things that all genres have in common.
